New looks for the new season

  • December 4, 2020

New waterfronts, marinas and berths in 2021

A considerable number of new berths will welcome sailors next summer. Only one marina is under construction, but the works on several waterfronts are in progress. They will create new berths for tourist boats, boats in transit and for local people.
Last year, two new marinas opened in Croatia, the one in Vela Luka and the other one in Jadranovo. Next summer, the sailors will be able to berth in one more marina in Pula, near the island of Sveta Katarina.

A number of berths will be available for use next spring already. Once the marina has been finished, it will provide 400 berths and a dry stack for further 42 boats, a hotel, a dry marina and other ammenities. The Pula harbour is well protected from all sides, flight connections with other airports (Pula, Trieste, Kopar) are excellent and its position is ideal to start a cruise towards the islands of Kvarner and further towards mid-Dalmatia.

The newly built 185m long breakwater in the town of Cres is designed to accomodate tourist and passenger boats. 260m of the waterfront has also been refurbished.

The deepening of the shallow sea and the rennovated waterfront will enable more berths. If we add about 70 berths at the shipyard and 461 berths at the ACI marina Cres, we are looking at a very serious sailing center of the northern Adriatic. Not to mention that there is a possibility to install pontoon extensions and thus enlarge the number of berths.

The pandemics has slowed down the construction of the western breakwater and a new T- pier in Crikvenica. Nevertheless, they will both be ready for the new sailing season in 2021. Better wind protection will allow more local and nautical berths.

Next spring, after two years of construction, the new ferry port in Tkon, on the island of Pašman, is expected to be finished. The works also included about 30 transient berths and a section for a tourist transfer.

The new 400m long waterfront on the southern part of the harbour in Marina, near Trogir is a work in progress. A part of it will be used to host big yachts. It is expected to be completed by the next sailing season.

The installation of pontoons in the local harbor of Trget, in Raša Bay in Istria, has been finished. There are more than 100 berths for local berths holders and about 200 berths available for sailing enthusiasts. The reconstruction of the breakwater in ACI marina Korčula is planned to be finished early next spring.
