The organizers are optimistic because the show that is out in the open is more likely to be held despite Covid-19.

By the look of things, the 22nd Biograd Boat Show will be held from October 21 to 25. Should the organizers suceed in their intention, it will be one of the few autumn boat shows. Preparations for the upcoming 5-day event are already underway.  It is estimated that about 80% of last year’s events might take place this year. Given the fact that the majority of other boat shows have been cancelled, holding the event itself would be a success.

BBS is organized by Ilirija d.d. that is also the owner of marina Kornati in Biograd, the actual location of the Show what makes the logistical issue much easier. The event itself will be organized according to all the epidemiological protocols issued by the Croatian Public Health. It means that it will be determined and monitored how many people can attend one event or place at the same time. It will be mandatory to disinfect hands and all surfaces regularly and the exhibit area of the show will be adapted in order to provide maximum protection for all the exhibitors and visitors.

Just like in previous years, the Show will host many important meetings from the marine sector, such as the annual meeting of the Croatian Charter Association and The Croatian Marina Association. Last year saw the introduction of a new side event – a B2B show for the charter industry. This parallel B2B show used the innovative digital platform for easy communication and meeting calenders.

This year the platform will be particularly helpful in preventing crowds and reducing the risks. Various other forms of communication such as virtual conferences or Zoom conferences will be available as well. The contracts with exhibitors have been prepared, but the signing will have to wait until the epidemiological situation is known and favourable. Should the Show be cancelled, the organizer will make refunds.

This helps many companies that have suffered losses this year to make a decision about participating in BBS. It is very important to take part in BBS not only for planning a new nautical season, but it is also a great opportunity to see new boats in the market.
