Last week’s happenings have brought back optimism to all those who feared that there would be no nautical season. We finally saw great number of boats out on the sea, the waterfronts of island towns were crowded for the first time this year and charter operators began to work seriously.
Of course, the numbers are far from last year’s records, but the wheels are turning…
According to the official figures, 6.300 sailors were sailing in Croatia on a chartered boat as opposed to 22.500 in the same period last year.
The bookings for the rest of June show that the number is likely to grow as well as the reservations for July and August, but it will all depend on the epidemiological situation at that time, events in the countries that are our main markets and the air traffic.
There is a greater number of foreign sailors headed on to the sea in their own boats that are on berth in Croatian marinas and many big yachts are arriving as well.
Some have already been cruising among our islands while the others are on berth waiting for their guests.
