Relaxing measures for seafarers

Civil Protection Directorate has announced the relaxation of restrictions for sailing. All vessels 24 m and longer are now permitted to enter harbours, ports and shipyards.

National Civil Protection Directorate has announced today the decision to ease the restrictions referring to nautical tourism. For the time being, the decision refers to vessels 24 m and longer. They will be permitted to enter the harbours and public ports.
Also, all boats and yachts 24 m and longer will be permitted to get to shipyards for refit or service, said Davor Božinović, the Minister of the Interior, at the press conference held earlier today.
Even though there is no large number of such vessels, this is the first phase to ease the restrictions which concern sea activities and sailing directly. All other vessels continue to remain within local boundaries or within regional boundaries provided that the county has eased the restrictions due to a satisfactory epidemiological situation.
For example, the vessels within Istria county can move around freely, while those in Primorje – Gorski kotar county can sail within its two subregions. Sailing is thus permitted between the islands of Krk, Cres, Lošinj and Rab and within the area from Opatija to Novi Vinodolski.
For other islands and harbours on the coast, the regional measures based on the local epidemiological situation are still valid.
